to tweet or not to tweet???

I have been debating whether or not to open a twitter account for quite some time. I have resisted the urge mostly because I associate twitter with status updates on facebook, and I have a real problem with status updates on facebook for some reason...actually I HATE status updates on facebook except for a few. Who really cares what you are doing every second of everyday and who wants everyone to know what they are doing all the time. And my big pet peeve of facebook is people who post vague updates like "I'm sad" and then about 20 people have replied "Oh what's wrong." But lately, it seems like everyone is "tweeting" - everyone whose blog I follow anyways so I would "tweet" with them. , but I don't have any "real-life friends" that tweet. And, it looks like fun and I would not use it to bore you all with what I am doing every minutes of my day but would probably use it for random thoughts throughout the day...there are so many times I think of really random thoughts that are never complete enough to write a whole blog post about or I forget about them before I get the chance to... So should I tweet? or not? What do you think?

  1. I Tweet, but reluctantly. I'm only doing it because (watch me revert to 13 years old before your very eyes) everyone else is doing it.

However, "everyone" is only my blog friends. I only know a couple people in real life who tweet.

Then again, I don't know many people (in real life) who blog, either.

  2. I tweet and so does my sister. Yeah, it is alot like facebook, but you can also send direct messages that only they can see and you can link your phone so certain peoples tweets get sent to your phone in text form. I only know about 8 of the people who I follow but I only follow 2 others that I dont which are tammy trent and women of faith bc they give updates on there lives and the tour. It's alright.

  4. Definately! I do tweet. I do update and I get everyone else's update by text so I don't have to log onto twitter all the time. I understand what your saying when you say "who really care's what everyone is doing all day" but most of mine are my real friends so it's more personal then if I were just following some random person. I love it. And when you update your twitter you can set it up to auto update your facebook at the same time.

  5. i'm on twitter & honestly it's so boring! you dont upload pics & you have limited options on what your page looks like. there's not even a place to really explain who you are. it's kinda lame to me compared to FB & myspace. if you already have your friends on those sites, it's kinda pointless to log into a whole nothing site just to put the same status update on there.
