Lazy Weekend

We finally had a weekend where we didn't have anything specific planned. Saturday night we headed over to our friend's, Mark and Steph's for pool time and to grill out. It was so good to see them and their little girl Maddy. Steph and I know each other from college and her and her family moved from Colorado last November to KC. We have been trying to get together for awhile now, but this summer has been a little busy. They just bought a house about a mile from our house so we see a lot of get togethers in our future. It is great because their daughter, Maddy just turned 2 and Steph is preggers with their 2nd so the kids will be close in age. The kids had a blast at the pool minus Jackson trying to "drown" himself - that kid has no fear of the water! After supper, I took the kids home to get ready for bed and JD stayed to have some drinks with Mark. I am so glad that our husbands get along so well!

Sunday, since we had nothing planned and JD's dad was gone on Sturgis, JD's mom decided to come down for the day to hang out. We took the kids to the Penguin Park and hung out with Grandma B. for the day! It is so nice having family within driving distance for days like these!



Penguin Park had some new features, like this silo thing above. We thought it looked pretty cool but were not so sure how it worked. So Jackson went first...

And then Addy...

...and then JD went...and we figured out that once you got it spinning, you couldn't get it to stop. We were laughing so hard, I had to get a picture of each of on the silo. I think that JD had to actually stop it for me! JD was sick after his turn!

Last but not least, Ryder came too and slept the entire trip to the park! It was a good day!
