Sick Days

I was so excited that Fall is finally here....but then the flu struck and now I am not so excited. I got my flu shot last week, Jackson got the first of his a few weeks ago and Addy has her's scheduled for the end of this month....two weeks too late! Addy is sick. Ok - so maybe it is or not the flu but I have sick kids at home and it is wearing on me. It all started with Addy coughing on Sat, then got a runny nose and an eye cold on Sunday, then the fever broke out Monday night and now Jackson started the same stuff today and I am all out of sorts.

I decided Monday since Addy wasn't running a fever yet, I would head to work Monday night. It was mostly her eyes that were bothering her. Every time this girl gets a cold, it goes to her eyes and they get real gunky and they were so red and swollen. So I knew Tuesday morning when I got off of work, that I was going to have keep her at home so I set up my laptop in our bed and let Addy watch movies all day while I napped when Jackson napped and tried to keep Addy at bay. Addy started running a fever Monday night and off and on Tues and then last night, the wheezing began - ugh. Whenever Addy gets any kind of congestion, she wheezes - I swear she is going to be my asthmatic but we will see. So, today - Wednesday, I get up with my sad baby girl and get Jackson up to find that he has a snotty nose and is congested - really, it is not going to be my day. So, I called in to work for tonight because I know that I am not going to be able to make it through another 12 hour night shift and then stay awake again tomorrow. Addy is feeling much better with motrin on board and is dancing around and watching movies (can never keep her down anyways) - Jackson is just a cuddlebug and hates me for wiping his nose every 10 minutes. And I am running around cleaning everything!

The worst part about this whole sickness is we have company coming this weekend! Maybe I should send out memos to everyone to bring their face masks!

PS...I really will be updating the past couple weeks soon! I have been really busy!
