skin deep

I found this awesome website last year called Skin Deep that I tend to use quite a bit. It is a cosmetic database where you can enter almost any cosmetic product and look up the toxicity of that product. It is a great site for soaps, make-up, etc. The FDA does not require companies to test their products for safety so this site serves as a great reference. I used this site for buying sunscreen for my kiddos and I found that almost all of the sunscreens that are labeled "baby sunscreen" have some really toxic chemical in them and like most mothers, I don't really care to have my kids smothered in sunscreen all day with some toxic chemicals that may cause cancer someday! So after doing some research, I found that many of the baby sunscreens that also advertise for sensitive skin and chemical/fragrance free are pretty safe (California Baby).
