Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Day turned out to be a beautiful day here in KC! It was 62 degrees outside so we spent quite a bit of time outside with Addy. It was just the three of us and it was a lot of fun. It was the first Thanksgiving we spent by ourselves. I made a turkey breast (Emeril's recipe) that turned out really good and JD made his corn and oysters, and then we had apple pie for dessert. We went to the park after we ate so Addy could play since it was so nice out. We spent the rest of the day looking at all the ads in the newspaper and watching movies (mostly Shrek as that is all Addy wanted to watch). I was able to spend most of the day reading (I got suckered into reading the Twilight series and am addicted but am almost done). And we enjoyed lots of leftovers - thanks to Julie a few years ago, JD got introduced to leftover turkey sandwiches that he really enjoys!

We did not go shopping on Black Friday.I dont think I have ever been (except 1 year I ran to Target to grab something and left asap) so Friday we just hung out and Colleen (my cousin/Addy's babysitter) came over to see Addison from college - whom she missed very much - whom I miss very much too! And today JD is shooting guns with a friend from work and Addy and I are hanging out - I am hoping I can finish my book series today - depending on how much entertainment Addy needs. Today it has been raining/sleeting this morning and is supposed to snow tonight so I think we will be indoors most of the day! Crazy MO weather!

I started my maternity leave last Friday since I was so uncomfortable so it has been nice to be off of work and be able to stay home with Addy. It ended up to be good timing b/c Addy ended up sick all last weekend and is finally getting over her cold/sinus stuff and now I have had it for a few days so it is a good this baby is not here yet. I definately do not want a new baby around when everyone is the house is sick - not during RSV season! (I am such a NICU nurse). Hopefully Addy and I will get over this stuff and within the next week or so we will have a baby!
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! We missed seeing everyone!
